Ivan Marini è nato nel 1976 a Bolzano e vive a S. Giacomo di Laives con la sua famiglia. Dopo la maturità scientifica si diploma in Sassofono e Strumentazione per banda presso il conservatorio di Trento. Consegue inoltre il diploma triennale in direzione di banda presso l'ISEB. Nel frattempo frequenta corsi, seminari e masterclasses di esecuzione (anche su altri strumenti), direzione, arrangiamento e composizione.
Sempre alla ricerca di nuove esperienze musicali, suona in gruppi di musica africana, di funky e rhythm 'n' blues, di musica contemporanea, in big bands e quartetti di sassofoni, in compagnie di musical, in orchestre di fiati; ha curato sonorizzazioni di readings poetici e film muti, registrando anche numerosi CD. E' stato sax soprano solo e primo sax alto della “European Union Youth Wind Orchestra”; ha suonato con l'orchestra dell'accademia Gustav Mahler; ha partecipato a importanti festival e concorsi in Italia e all'estero, tra cui: “Certamen internacional” di Valencia (E), “World Music Contest” di Kerkrade (NL) in categoria Concerto, “Flicorno d'oro” a Riva del Garda (I), “Mid Europe” a Schladming (A), “Eolia” a Strasburgo (F).
Ha trascritto, strumentato e arrangiato numerosi lavori in vari stili, per proprie formazioni e su commissione. Come compositore ha un catalogo molto ridotto ma diversi brani eseguiti, pubblicati (anche da Scomegna e Ruh Verlag), segnalati e premiati in importanti concorsi.
Dopo oltre venti anni di insegnamento di diverse discipline nelle scuole musicali del Trentino e dell'Alto Adige, è oggi docente di ruolo di sassofono presso le scuole secondarie ad indirizzo musicale; dirige inoltre il corpo musicale “Mario Mascagni” di Bolzano.
 
 
Ivan Marini (Jahrgang 1976) ist in Bozen geboren und lebt mit seiner Familie in St. Jakob bei Leifers. Nach der wissenschaftlichen Oberschulreife studierte er Saxophon und Instrumentation für Blasorchester am trientner Konservatorium; Er erwarb auch ein dreijähriges Diplom in Blasorchesterdirektion beim Institut ISEB. Ständig bildet er sich weiter durch Masterclasses, Kurse und Seminare für verschiedene Blas-, Streich- und Schlaginstrumente, Dirigieren, Arrangement und Komposition.
Auf der ständigen Suche nach neuen musikalischen Erfahrungen, erlebt er eine facettenreiche Konzerttätigkeit, u.a. mit Gruppen afrikanischer Musik, Funky- und Rhythm ‘n’ Blues-Bands, Ensembles für neue Musik, Big Bands, Saxophonquartetten, Musical-Orchestern und Blasorchestern. Er begleitet Stummfilme und Poetry Readings, und ist auf mehreren CDs zu hören. Er war Solosopransax und 1. Altsax beim Europäischen Jugendblasorchester und Sopransaxophon beim Orchester der Gustav Mahler Akademie; nahm an wichtigen Festivals und Wettbewerben teil, u.a. “Certamen internacional” in Valencia (E), “World Music Contest” (Kerkrade - NL) in der Höchstkategorie, “Flicorno d'oro” in Riva del Garda (I), “Mid Europe” in Schladming (A), “Eolia” in Straßburg (F).
Er hat zahlreiche Werke in verschiedenen Stilrichtungen transkribiert, instrumentiert und arrangiert, häufig als Auftragswerke. Als Komponist ist er nur gelegentlich tätig: seine Werke werden trotzdem aufgeführt, verlegt (u.a. bei Scomegna und Ruh Verlag) und werden bei wichtigen Wettbewerben ausgezeichnet.
Mit über 20 Jahren Lehrerfahrung musikalischer Fächern in Südtirol und dem Trentino, ist er heutzutage Lehrkraft für Saxophon bei den öffentlichen Schulen; er ist auch als Dirigent der Musikkapelle “Mario Mascagni” in Bozen tätig.
 
 
Ivan Marini was born in Bolzano (northern Italy) in 1976 and lives in nearby S. Giacomo di Laives. His continuous search for new musical experiences led him to explore traditional African music, Funk, Jazz, classical, Rhythm ‘n’ Blues, contemporary classical, live soundtracks for silent movies and Poetry readings, playing in Bands, chamber ensembles, Big Bands, Saxophone quartets, Pit orchestras, Wind ensembles and Concert bands, releasing many recordings. He won the position of Solo Soprano Saxophone and 1st Alto Saxophone in the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra; played Soprano Saxophone with the Orchestra of the Gustav Mahler Academy; played at several major festivals and competitions, including “Certamen internacional” in Valencia (E), “World Music Contest” (Kerkrade - NL) in the highest category, “Flicorno d'oro” in Riva del Garda (I), “Mid Europe” in Schladming (A), “Eolia” in Strasbourg (F).
He wrote transcriptions, instrumentations and arrangements in different styles and for various formations, mostly as commissioned works. He composes only occasionally, but his few works are played, published (e.g. by Scomegna and Ruh Verlag) and awarded in important competitions.
Having over 20 years of experience in teaching various musical subjects in the region’s schools, he is actually saxophone teacher in the junior high schools and conducts the “Mario Mascagni” wind band in Bolzano.
After a scientific high school graduation, Marini earned Diploma degrees in Saxophone and Wind Band Instrumentation from the Trento Conservatory; he graduated also in Wind Band Conducting at the ISEB institute. In addition, he attended many masterclasses, courses and seminars in different wind, string and percussion instruments, in conducting, arranging and composing.
